Ready in 1 minute.
One command, in the project you already have. No account, no key, nothing in your code.
- ▸A React project running on your computer (Next.js, Vite…).
- ▸An AI coding agent installed and logged in: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor CLI or Gemini CLI.
- 01In your project's folder, run
No need to start the app first: Ilse runs your npm run dev behind itself and opens the app at its usual address (localhost:3000, or whatever port it uses), toolbar on top. Logins and SSO keep working.
The first run asks:
- 01
How to hand annotations to your agent
Automatic (recommended): Ilse calls your agent. Or from your agent's chat (MCP), or the clipboard.
- 02
Where Ilse opens
On your app's usual address (recommended), or on a separate one (localhost:4700) — then you run the dev server.
- 03
Which Claude account to use
Only with more than one logged in (personal and work, say). ilse-design --account asks again.
- 01
- 02Point, adjust, Run
Click an element, adjust it in the panel or write what should change, and press Run. What maps to a Tailwind class Ilse applies without AI; the rest goes to your agent. ⌘Z undoes it.
Then just run ilse in the project's folder. When a new version is out, Ilse says so at startup.
npm install -g ilse-design # → ilse / ilse-designRather run the dev server yourself? ilse-design --separate opens Ilse at localhost:4700. There are also the Vite plugin, the bookmarklet and the Chrome extension (see the reference on GitHub), or the component in your layout, which renders nothing in production:
npm install -D ilse-design
import { Ilse } from "ilse-design/react";
<Ilse />Any React project with a dev server. Tested on Next.js 15 and 16 and on Vite 7 with React 19.
Ilse uses your agent and your account, and picks the cheapest step that works. With no agent at all, it falls back to the clipboard.

Not comfortable with the terminal? Ask your agent: “Install and run Ilse in this project — see https://github.com/idantas/ilse”.
